Coventry band Thoria caught my attention years ago with a splendidly raucous garage style grunge sound, managing one album before disappering from view.
Back after a four year holiday,
Straight From Hell is a grand rocker, melding Cobain type raspy melodies to big shiny Hell Is For Heroes guitars. Whilst lyrically generic in the usual sort of Gen-X way, it makes up for it in its clean, crunching riffage.
Instils gleeful headbanging at 10 paces.
