| Enter Shikari - Take To The Skies It’s rare to come across an album which is essential listening, not just because of its musical quality or its inventiveness, but also because of its importance to modern music. Take To The Skies is just such an album.
From the opening atmospheric synth of Stand Your Ground; This is an Ancient Land you can tell you’re about to hear something special and this feeling is solidified when Enter Shikari kicks in. With lead singer Rou producing such vitriol against a dynamic background of synth, crashing drums and heavy guitar riffage, you can’t help but be impressed by this young band as you’re swept along for the ride. Adieu showcases the band and their most heartfelt and mellow, with sweet infectious melodies accompanied by acoustic guitar, before building to a glorious crescendo in the last minute.
According to one of the band’s own song titles, Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour. This isn’t the best way to sum up the...

None at all.
That said, they're quite good fun, in an utterly devoid of meaning and originality sort of way. I honestly do find that album quite enjoyable to jump about the house to. Anyone that takes them seriously needs help, mind you. I dont think you get the joke, the tennements.

As long as they are doing it because they care about the music industry, and not just because they are holding-out for the right number of figures to come along, then I totally respect that.
Good moral fibre shouldn't equate a glowing album review, though, as the music is still pretty gash. Before becoming a second-rate Incubus knockoff and then eventually fading into obscurity, Apartment 26 mixed metal with "dance" / synths a lot better than this mob, as have plenty of other bands over the past decade or so.
In any event, there should be some kind of minimum post count reuirement before someone is allowed to post CD reviews. This is probably just blind praise from some overly-keen street-teamer.
The worst thing about Enter Shikari is that I almost went to see them a few years back, misreading a poster that led me to believe them to be the return of a band called Shikari who were MUCH better than this trend-riding garbage.
Just read through this thread and can't believe someone else actually mentioned Apartment 26, haha. TRUST YOU, PAUL!

| Re: Enter Shikari - Take To The Skies Yeah, its fashionable for bands to pretend that they're on indie labels again. Just like when Ned's Atomic Dustbin had the Furtive record label (which was really set up and given to them by Sony so they could still appear "indie"). |
