A band that I was told I would love after numerous friends told me I should check them out, I finally get to hear the Arcade Fire properly. I had heard a snippet of a few songs before now but never enough for me to make a proper decision on whether it was my type of thing or not. So when this CD popped through my letter box I listened to it with great interest.
Onto the band themselves. They are a musically gifted band from what I have heard, changing instruments on stage during songs, so obviously the talent is there but is the music any good?
I can appreciate what they are trying to do with this song and it is a really good song for chilling out to and for the mood I am in just now the song fits well. It jogs along at it's own pace and though at times the brass section adds a bit of drama to it it doesn't get over the top. The use of accordions is a nice touch as well; it is always good to hear them, as it is a very underused instrument in modern music.
This is a song that I would recommend to any person looking for some chill out music, as you can just shut your eyes and drift off listening to it without over thinking, and I look forward to hearing the next single so I can finally decide whether I like this band or not. If it's anything like this then I'm sure the answer will be a 'yes'.
No Cars Go is taken from the album Neon Bible, both are out now.
