The Liquid Ship is possibly the tiniest venue I've ever encountered in my life. It's lovely, however; there's something almost homey about it, and due to its size the gig was pretty intimate.

The Living Room Sessions is the recording made of the artists who played. Sadly I missed the last act, Brian Cunningham, because I had to get my last train, but a listen to the CD I received on my way in suggests that I should look out for him.

I arrived in time to catch the end of Stewart Ross (Holy Folks). The three songs I caught were charming enough, but his very strong accent put me off a bit. His lyrics were generally really good, but "you're a bad, bad lassie" made me cringe a little. He won through with other lines such as "everyone loves tuna but no one wants to see a dolphin die".

Up next was Rachel McLennan, who has a beautiful voice, and the lyrics of her songs were fantastic. I'm going to seek out some more of...

If there was nothing else of note to write about from the gig then the responsibility is not yours.

Your last sentence in the post you quoted Brett means exactly the same as his post you quoted. Here, have a read and possibly even a mild chuckle:

Read the review. Listened to the music on MySpace. Very Heather Nova. Like it.

The review might seem less biased if the other acts also had their sites linked to and maybe some more info on the CD that was launched.

Hey folks. Glad to see there was interest in the night and it's nice to see Eve get the adulation she so deserves.

I organised the night and recorded the CD. I set up a small production company as part of my college course and, as a trial night, I was extremely happy with the reception both the acts and the showcase received.

I'd like to point out that Eryka are a band of four and, clearly a compliment to their songs, their acoustic versions of their set was a fulfilling finale for the night.
