Yeah! An honest bit of PR: a band calling themselves 'pop band at heart'. Not punk, not pop-punk, but pop. Finally, someone ballsy enough to admit to what they are. Just looked out the window and no, the sky hasn't fallen in. Of course, that might be because later on they call themselves 'philosophical pop'. Aye right, whatever!
The Track Record are pop and the tunes are alright. The singer's voice has that high whiny sound that makes you want to reach out and strangle him: it could be worse, but then again it could be a lot better. The problem is that I've heard this before and I've heard it done better. I didn't really connect with any of the lyrics, either: "It's so crazy how suicide occupies the minds of so, so many happy people". What sort of guff is that? It's watered down emo pop-punk.
Damn, let's be honest—I'd stick on Busted for some better pop-punk. This just didn't float my boat.
The Track Record are unworthy of further column space.
