| Glasgow Barrowlands, 07/07/05 Nice Inch Nails are really good. I’m fairly convinced of this fact, and I clung to it throughout the night. Like a raft, it bore me from island to island of great songs, scattered haphazardly in a sea of shitty tracks from With Teeth.
To be fair, this is the first time that I’d heard anything off the new album, so I hadn’t really had a chance to get to know any of these dreadful, dreadful songs. They are rubbish, though, when performed live. I can’t imagine that being on record helps them to suck any less.
Of course, no one was there to hear the band play stuff off of With Teeth. Contradict me all you want—you’re lying. About halfway through the set Ninchy Nails realised this and got on with their good songs. And how were they? Well, they were good.
Mostly good. Occasionally things got kicked up into fucking excellent, but never for very long. Somewhere along the way NIN seem to have forgotten how to rock, which is terribly...

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails Thought the gig was amazing, sound was excellent, band was tight, set list was nice and long and really varied. I'm in the apparant minority in thinking that "With Teeth" is fantastic and I've heard so many live recordings of the old stuff that I was really looking to hear more new stuff to be honest, and the only songs I left wishing they played were from the new album. Saul Williams was really intense too, definately going to be hunting his stuff out soon. |

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails After being pleasently surprised at how good the new NIN record is I was somewhat disappointted at how flat the show in the Barrowlands was last night.
The guitars were weak, the choice of songs was haphazard, inevitably "Hurt" was rolled out, which is one of the worst songs that has ever been written and even disregarding that I would thought Reznor would have got the message when Johnny Cash managed to do it better than NIN can.
The new "band" was pretty much faceless and the new guitarists "guitar as light sabre" move was really beginning to get annoying.
And clearly I'm poor because I seemed to be the minority as one of the few people in the crowd who didn't have a digital camera
Mostly though I thought the performance let the gig down and compared to the last time I saw NIN in the Barrowlands it really was a poor show. Certainly didn't make up for the non-appearance at the Lost Weekend. |

I wouldn't have been bothered had we been down on the dancefloor / moshpit! |

Apparently i had to arrange a special pass from the tour manager - how the fuck do i do that?!
It was quite funny seeing everyone record Hurt on their mobile phones.. What's wrong with a zippo?

I wonder why yours was confiscated... |
