| Glasgow Barrowlands, 07/07/05 Nice Inch Nails are really good. I’m fairly convinced of this fact, and I clung to it throughout the night. Like a raft, it bore me from island to island of great songs, scattered haphazardly in a sea of shitty tracks from With Teeth.
To be fair, this is the first time that I’d heard anything off the new album, so I hadn’t really had a chance to get to know any of these dreadful, dreadful songs. They are rubbish, though, when performed live. I can’t imagine that being on record helps them to suck any less.
Of course, no one was there to hear the band play stuff off of With Teeth. Contradict me all you want—you’re lying. About halfway through the set Ninchy Nails realised this and got on with their good songs. And how were they? Well, they were good.
Mostly good. Occasionally things got kicked up into fucking excellent, but never for very long. Somewhere along the way NIN seem to have forgotten how to rock, which is terribly...

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails If you're any good, why not ask if Forbes can sort you with a photopass on behalf of Alternativenation?
Get you right into the security pit for ( usually ) the first 3 songs... |

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails To be honest, I don't agree with much in this review at all. IMO the songs from With Teeth came into their own live. The lighting was nothing spectacular. Massive Attack had a similar setup which they used in a far more spectacular way.
As someone has already pointed out, the interlude in Closer was actually from "The Only Time", not "Down In It". Both songs use the same DX7-type patch.

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails I'll be controversial and say that 'The Hand That Feeds' was my favourite song of the night, it's not my favourite NIN track but it sounded amazing live. |

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails The Hand That Feeds was fucking great live, but for me the highlight(s) of the night were 'Terrible Lie' and 'Starfuckers, Inc'. Fuck, even managed a wee mini-wall of death for Starfuckers. Looking back, every song was above par for me, except 'Love Is Not Enough'. It just seemed lifeless to me.
Still, one of the best ever. |

| Re: Live: Nine Inch Nails What the fuck are most of you guys taking? NIN are shit? NIN played to many songs off the new album? And the thing I despise most is Trent Reznor is a Prick...Not as much as you mate let me tell you. NIN are far from shit, how can you call a band, who's entire UK tour sold out in 15 minutes, shit? And as for them playing "too many" songs off the new album it's a fucking With Teeth tour, hello. What do you expect. I was at all 6 London gigs and both Manchester gigs and I wasn't dissapointed once. So all of you complaining that it was shit and dissapointing...you are all nutters. Trent Reznor is the best singer/songwriter alive right now, and With Teeth is up there with TDS. I met the band in Manchester and Trent was the nicest guy I have ever met, although I was slightly dissapointed with Jerome and Jeordie as they were dickheads. But other than that It was the most amazing 8 days of my life, and each time, I was there queueing from between 5 and 6am. And was well worth it. |
