OkGo are from Chicago, home of such alterative rock giants as the Pumpkins, but instead of goth and metal influences this American outfit channel power pop via awkward indie rock. A fore-taster of their already American-released second record, OkGo’s forthcoming February single is called
A Million Ways. Unfortunately, it does not do this band justice: their 2002 debut had many great moments including the Weezer-esque
Get Over It. Ultimately this is a bass-heavy slice of 21st century new wave stutter pop that sparkles brightly without ever really shining.
