[Metal] Mendeed - This War Will Last Forever

Traditional 1980s metal styles dominate this album, from Iron Maiden to Anthrax with added 21st century post hardcore twists. The pummeling grates after a while and the sometimes vaguely catchy vocal lines do well to carry the songs along when the metallic juddering is becoming repetitous.

When the band kick completely loose they are at their best, The Mourning After being particularly vicious.

All in all, This War Will Last Foever won't reshape the rock world, in fact sometimes it is very boring but at least it creates a damn good racket when it feels like it.

Mendeed have just finished a lengthy tour and this album is out on rising records, www.risingrecords.co.uk

I think Mendeed are fantastic and i'm not even a big metal music fan. They're a great example of a hard working band and I'm really pleased they're doing well!

Well I saw them with God Forbid earlier in the year and they were pretty good solid band still I'd have to agree they havn't created anything from what I saw that would make them really stand out.

I think thats rather harsh, nearlly all bands create something wither you like the creation or not is subjective

i do agree that most new bands this day and age all try and rip off other so much like MCR or good charlotte or the worst....blink 182, but mendeed dont sound like anyone really. good hard working guys who deserve all they get

Yeah exactly i said they deserve everything they get. On the otherhand i said that most glasgow bands don't create anything really new - ie they don't have any groundbreaking qualities or haven't amassed huge crowds of people to their scene although i never said they weren't good bands.

I think I saw this band years ago in a line up of punk bnds somewhere, but maybe it was someone else with a similar name.

Anyways, I have no knowledge of the Glasgow scene, I only judged the band on their album
