Probably destined just to remembered as a band that gave Idlewild a member, Turn are a tuneful rock act out of the land of tatties and Guiness.
Their self titled third effort is a collection of guitar pop tunes, either perky bounce or melancholy strum. There is absolutely nothing here that reinvents the wheel, there is echoes of the La's and Buffalo Tom across the record, especially the Tom's more folk inclined period as on
Wildside.
There's nothing here that matches the gnashing rage of their early single
Barreta but Turn have never really been that heavy since, trading in Pixie rage for Bob Dylan introspection.
Turn's
Turn then, an enjoyable but unremarkable record.
