| Asides: Fall Out Boy, R Ashcroft, Therapy?, Coldcut and Giant Drag Fall Out Boy - Dance, Dance Aims to be JEW's Sweetness but falls far short. This is everything that stinks about modern commericial rock music, middle of the road pap tailored for middle of the road saps in baggy trousers. Where is a cultural apocalypse when you need one? Richard Ashcroft - Music Is Powerless Christ this is shite! Funk guitar fights with strings and a multitude of sounds for your attention as Ashcroft does his schtik over the top. Mince. Therapy? - Rain Hits Concrete Heard it all before but you can't deny Therapy? for their knack at writing Big Black flected pop punk. Catchy but sour! Giant Drag - This Isn't It - Surly yet sweet grunge pop that is half way between the Breeders and Veruca Salt. Contains a snazzy guitar solo at the half way mark that would make Mascis proud. Coldcut - True Skool - More memorable than it should be this...

I'd never expect everyone to agree with my music taste (probably a good thing) and at least most of us can disagree and put a point across as to why we do like it. Unlike some fanatical fans who just go "your shite and have no clue" after many of the negative reviews on here . If people explained more they would help their beloeved band more. Quote:

“Because I’ve heard the exact same thing played with more passion, a catchier chorus, more insightful lyrics (which actually had cultural relevance to me) and a little bit of integrity by insert older band here.”
Copy/pasting that fictional exchange could save a lot of time here in future. Might take some of the fun out of baiting the kids though.

I like Staleys reviews, they attract new users to AltNation. Admittedly they tend not to come back after calling him a cunt but its the thought that counts. |

| Re: Singles inc. Fall Out Boy, R Ashcroft, Therapy?, Coldcut and Giant Drag It's horses for courses though, innit.
People that like FOB don't listen to them in the belief that they are fantastically smart muscians writting the cleverest music ever though of.
They don't think their songs are the greatest songs ever composed.
They listen to them cause they like the songs, they're good to sing along to, bob your head, all that jazz.
It's like writting a review for a sports car and them bitching the whole time about how you can't fit your grandfather clock and wardrobe in it.
