I just got a pair of Alesis M1 520's.
I've used an XLR to phono cable to hook these bad boys up to my sound card.
Nae sound.... i know it's some pissy annoying little software setting needing adjusted... any help?

| Re: Small/simple PC audio problem... Not sure if your X-Fi console is anything like mine. Usually there is a seperate volume control for headphones on these cards and are sometimes set to 0 by default. Sorry i can't help you much.

| Re: Small/simple PC audio problem... Do the headphones need phantom power from the sound card? Some headphones, headsets and the like require such things to actually work. If so its a case of finding out if your soundcard has the nessecary jumpers to allow you to power the headphones.

| Re: Small/simple PC audio problem... Check that you're getting Audio out of all the other outputs..
Try something else in the outputs you're trying to use..
Make sure the powered monitors work from a separate audio source..
Make sure the monitors are getting power (sounds silly I know.. but..)..
