| Can you recommend a Hard Case for Acoustic guitar? Under £60 is my budget. Are there any hard cases that have shoulder straps? I'm looking for the ABS plastic type case. SoundControl and Merchant city have Stagg and Gator models around the same price but I don't know if one is better than the other.
Cheers for any advice

| Re: Can you recommend a Hard Case for Acoustic guitar? I used to stand on Stagg ones all the time when I was stacking drums in storage, they're pretty robust. Best thing to do is look on their website and look for the detailed specs, they usually tell you the weight which one can take. |

| Re: Can you recommend a Hard Case for Acoustic guitar? A hard case with shoulder straps? Do they exist? I'm sure only soft carry bags have straps. At the very most you get a really reinforced bag that has straps, but if you want proper protection then go for a hard case. You'll have to lug it about, but thems the breaks |

| Re: Can you recommend a Hard Case for Acoustic guitar? I don't think Stagg has a web site and Gator don't say what weight they'll take. But if you could stand on it then that's good enough for me. Gator do a cool ABS case that is basically their normal one but all the metal is black powder coating instead of chrome and it looks much cooler. They only sell them in the States though jeez oh the musicians over there have it so good, everything is half price too near enough.
I seen a guy walking about the town with a classical case that was strapped to his back. It looked like a really expensive moulded case though. I don't mind lugging it about but shoulder straps would be good for hands free to carry other stuff.
Al you just created a black hole in the comedy universe

I don't think you looked very hard http://www.staggmusic.com/products/p...=234&langue=uk
there's hunners on there in four different ranges: economic, basic, vintage and deluxe
i've never looked at stagg guitar cases (mine is a " freestyle" from sound control which seems okay) but I do have stagg drum cases and they're really impressive, much better than the Pearl ones they replaced both in design and build quality.

Cheers for that link DJToast. Might just get the one in Merchant City for £45 using Snapfax. £350 for their deluxe model wow so much for budget gear. Looks nice though.
Check out this place for super deluxe cases. They have shoulder straps too but they only do Fender model cases at the moment. I emailed them for prices just for a laugh but no reply yet.

| Re: Can you recommend a Hard Case for Acoustic guitar? Yeah Stagg have sort of sailed away from the budget thing since they found out their cases are beating most other brands for build quality. |

| Re: Can you recommend a Hard Case for Acoustic guitar? I got an SKB hard case but I sent it back as the strap on the inside broke and the solidity of the case wasn't up to much as only a little bit of pressure would fold the top inwards. This was one of the first line of SKB made in China which might be why. They have a reputation for quality but that was fragile.
I ended up opting for a semi rigid case which has the best of both worlds.
Merchant City do a good one called Protection Racket, look for £50.
Made with very strong foam so it's light and strong plus it also has shoulder straps which makes it much much easier to carry, leaving your hands free for well I dunno rolling a joint or fighting. It also has more pockets in which to put sheet music etc.
I think the downside with these cases is that they might be hard to clean once they get dirty. A hard case you can just wipe with a cloth but because these are made with waterproof material you might need special cleaning stuff.
There are hard cases for sale with shoulder straps but they are pricey, cheapest I seen are at Thomann and cost £126 inc.
