| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab I know I must soudn really old, but your onstage volume should be just enough to hear yourself. If you're too loud onstage then the sound engineer can't let the PA system work properly. Get a good 50W Valve amp and you'll be sorted for any eventuality. I've gigged for the last six months with a wee 1x12 cabinet and my head, it's more than enough for any gig situation. |

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab I could gig happily with a wee 50W combo these days. A half stack looks minted, but I've dragged one around for four years now and just can't be arsed anymore |

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab I use a Spider II, I love it so much.
Played the Spider III and it pretty much is just a better version, can't give any complaints about it.
You seems to have a similar taste to me in things..Ibanez, Line 6, what's next

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab Hahahaha.
I actually tried out the Line 6 Spider III Valve combo today and it really does sound pretty fuckin smart.
The one I tried was a 40 watt and was about £460 or something....hmmmm......

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab Coming from experience of using a Spider II for years, it's a really good buy. Never had any problems with it (Well apart from when my mate poured a pint on it), and the sound is very nice indeed

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab If it wasnt for the fact that you'll most likely be playing smaller shows with little or no proper onstage monitoring, I'd suggest one of these... that way you dont need an amp or cab.. just go straight out of the pedal into the PA and let the monitors do the work for you..

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab The Line6 spider valve combo should do ye fine. I tried one a few months ago I liked it, although I did try it with an Axis though
Dunno about the 'PODX3 Live' though. I'd have one (I've got a POD X3) but I would have to try it out in a band situation to determine if its good enough. Although i have a friend who has a POD XT Live and uses that straight into the PA for his wedding band.
Then again they have their own PA etc and arent taking a chance on the in house "sound" |

you just need to know what you're doing and set the thing up right. guitarists need to get it into their heads that they are NOT sound engineers and stop fiddling with the knob on their amps.
but.. as I said.. maybe not the best thing for ropey little gigs.

| Re: Line 6 Spider III HD150 Head & Cab I think you're always going to get folk like that me that are seriously mistristing of gear like this. i appreciate that it's come on leaps and bounds in recent years, but there are still some gigs where I wouldn't be happy unless I got proper amp tone.
So when are we forming this wedding band then |
