Re: ES-135 pickup advice.... ?

its not strickly speaking a hollowbody - so i can get away with hotter pickups. And i said the pickups were p-100's, not p-90s ... they are gibsons stacked 'noise reducing' version of the p-90.

I've been advised to get a nice set of handwound p-90's ... so i'm looking into those

So basically they are stacked humbuckers. They should give plenty of output I would think then...
I don't think this guitar is for you really!
I honestly think your still gonna complain about it once a set of P90s is in it...

Re: ES-135 pickup advice.... ?

At what point have i been complaining??

All i asked for is some advice - not some condescending comments. I love the sound of the guitar as it happens, but was open to suggestions to control a sound at volume. But thanks for your input.

Re: ES-135 pickup advice.... ?

I think that what Dougie means (although not exactly tactfully put) is that thge exisiting pickups should give you the tone you're after , it's possibly the style of guitar that's the limiting factor.

Re: ES-135 pickup advice.... ?

The guitar plays beautifully - i wouldnt have bought it otherwise. My basic question was, are there any pickups you can put in a semi-hollow body to give it a bit more kick.... if the answer was NO, then not a problem. As it turns out, there are .... so we're all happy!

Thanks to those who helped out - case closed.
