Digital-or analogue multi tracks- Suggestions

Aye, so recently got back into writing music, got together with another guitarist and have been getting ideas sorted out, and cme up with some decent stuff, so me and the other guitarist have deceided to put some funds together to buy a multitrack
not looking for anything amazingly fancy, but it would be helpful if it was

-digital if possible, we'll be sending ideas across between us and a mate in edinburgh who'll be singing and writing the lyrics

-has SOME on board effect, again im not looking for anything amazingly technical, just a bit of reverb and basic delay and thats pretty much all i need

- user friendly
Pretty self explanatory, just something that we can record pretty easily, thats simple to use, and easy to get to grips with

budget of about 2-250

reccomedations? any i should avoid

cheers in advance

Use a pc, you can get loads of software that'll allow you to record directly from the line in. Or you can get a USB Audio/Midi interface like the Tascam US-144.

Adobe Audition is pretty good but most of the popular audio editing programs have the capability as standard.

For portability I have a Zoom MRS-4. It's very easy to use, records straight onto SmartMedia and is therefore very easy tp transfer onto the pc for doing all the editing malarkey.
