| Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Ok let's sort the men from the toys.
The Stratocaster is easily going to win this so get your who's who of guitar out LP and PRS fans because you're going to have to look into the bottom of both barrels and be prepared to be blown away!
Ok Strats, off the top of my head no looking on the web or in books.
The Masters:
Hendrix
Beck
Vaughan
Clapton
Knofler
On the subs bench:
Gilmour
Gallagher
Malmsteen
Eric Johnson
Ok that's all I can think of just now but it pretty much destroys yous already so cue Crossroads film music

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS I don't see what this proves (And Hendrix, Clapton and Gilmour also played Les Pauls) but...
Neil Young
Keith Richards
Jeff Beck
Bob Dylan
Jimmy Page
Frank Zappa (Though he more commonly used his heavily modified SG)
Paul Kossoff
Mick Jones
Johnny Winters...
Sake, Woody Guthrie, Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson all made their careers on Gibson guitars, doesn't mean they're any better or worse than Fenders.

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Oooohhhh check you out trying to call it a draw and picking at straws already I'll give you Page because that was his main axe but the rest of those guys are either using the LP as a second instrument or they're more known for their music than their virtuosity. So you can have Page and Zappa. Remember we're not talking about companies we're talking about the LP and Strat. PRS gets a by as a company because they need a handicap as I've never heard of anyone famous playing theirs

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Grasping at straws? Check you making up new rules.
My point isn't that its a draw, my point is having famous (or talented) musicians playing them doesn't make them better or worse guitars. |

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Y'know its all about the player not the instrument, If Hendrix played a piece of shit Squire or a Gresh, he would still sound like Hendrix. Redundant Thread. |

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Fuck sake what is this a Radio 4 phone in?
The reason Hendrix didn't choose a Squier or a Gresh lol what is because he knew of a much better guitar
Just admit you can't find as many greats on the LP or PRS and the Strats win

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Och next you'll be saying the new Speedo swimsuit isn't any better than the Asda ones, it's just more commonly used by professionals. You lose, Strat wins

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS What charming nonsense.
Though, and I know you haven't thought this through as you're working backward from the conclusion you're so desperately trying to prove, don't you think that comparing the Les Paul to Asda's own-brand gear is just a bit harsh?
I definitely prefer Gibson guitars for tone and feel, but theres no denying the Strats a quality guitar. |

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS I wasn't talking about quality I was talking about which is the best instrument, Asda make some good quality stuff, might even last longer but for swimming professionally they're not as good as the Speedo swimsuit. So it's quite a fair comparison

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS You should just accept that the speedo analogy is inapplicable and try a different tack to be honest, though this is entertaining too. |

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS Zappa mainly played an SG, though I still fail to see why this is in any way significant. Always a danger if you start by deciding your conclusion then trying to work backward.
Strat wins, Les Paul wins, you fail on faulty logic and total lack of coherent thought. |

| Re: Guitar Showdown! Strat vs Les Paul vs PRS One could compare the Strat to the Stradavarious, all violin players agree that the Strad is the best violin because it just is and most of the best guitar players play the Strat because? That's right Strat wins again
