1880 Bluthner, 7' 2" long.

felt very bad watching the guys move it without helping but i'm not insured, etc. or strong enough, obviously.

| Re: My grand piano just arrived :) that was a concern but it's actually sounding much better than i expected. grand pianos in homes tend to get a rug under them to help calm them, but the space mine's in is too weird a shape for that... and the lid is pointing at a wall so in theory not ideal positioning!
but perhaps because there's so much space ABOVE it (must be 40 feet to the skylight) it actually is sounding pretty good. also the walls are not parallel (because the house is built on a corner, so the house is wider at the back than the front), which'll help keep reflections down too i guess.
it's a very mellow piano to begin with which helps - in the last 100 years piano have become more and more powerful in terms of the sound they produce, partly to help them compete with larger orchestras when they're put in that context - this one is though is comparatively quiet.
