| Re: Lets hear ya how are you managing to work with jazz recording? you a student in that field? sounds interesting.
see when you said 'once i got all recording gear together' did you mean 'get'? i just mean it sounds like maybe you said you did get it together and haven't done anything yet or maybe you are planning on getting it together and doing it then?
who is duggy?
yeah you are right about some of the guitar players on here. some of them are amazing!
lol i don't actually play to a high standard. i'm more of a philosopher

| Re: Lets hear ya that sounds like a really cool course. i wish i knew how to work recording equipment.
when you are doing that you must meet some interesting people or maybe more so meet people with interesting ideas about how to record stuff.
i get what you mean about hearing people who aren't icons yet. even though they might do great stuff there is not the feeling of awe which established greats kinda have. it's more of a peer level where you can respect and appreciate but also challenge.
you know you can get an acoustic for about £50 these days? even less second hand. why are you waiting till you leave uni and get a job? i mean if you are thinking about getting a great acoustic that cost £200 then cool but in the meantime just get a cheapo and play that?

| Re: Lets hear ya oh please don't go on a romantic trip now and tell me a great acoustic is how you make it sound!
for £200 you can get a really good guitar. i know they go up to £50,000 but i don't think timmy was thinking about one of them yet.
for £50 though you can get a guitar that will be in tune and well really or should i say o rly that's all you need to get some tunes happening

The Yamaha and Takamine in that price range are quite nice. APX5 is quite nice too. |

| Re: Lets hear ya oh my god! i just did a google search for apx5 and found the apx5 12 string that looks amazing. like a cross bred. 12 strings are unbeateable when it comes to chords but it's also an electric too shaped as well. almost the perfect guitar!
the perfect guitar would be a strat 12 string but with the feel of a 6 string
what would your perfect guitar be?
back to my point though. you can play guitar and get tunes even if you only spend £50 on it

I'm the one who is pretty faithful to my £60 strat copy.

| Re: Lets hear ya i'll unraise you £50 i got my acoustic off a mate for £10 :yas:
what strat copy you got?
i think i listen to jimi too much. i have a les paul copy and i was playing it in bed last night with the lights out and it kept looking like a strat i was playing. haha i was stoned of course and trying to play chords jimi style and i thought yeah i can do that man but the feeling only lasted till i looked up and i realised it wasn't a strat and it wasn't jimi sounding
hash is good for messing though

| Re: Lets hear ya oh damn you went to bed. i was going to ask you to do a song for fun. you ever heard robert johnson playing come on in my kitchen? i love that because it's real simple but also changes beat from chorus to verse. i was thinking it would be cool to hear you doing that. i'd like to hear jm playing it too. i know you are both heavy metal guys but you seem to have some taste too. what i'd love to hear though is the way you play but using the one lyrical line of that song so it's kinda delta blues sliding with the lyrics
i am the best judger of guitar

| Re: Lets hear ya I didn't go to bed.
I already told you I was using my axis.
I am not familiar with that song.
I wouldn't pigeon hole me as a heavy metal guy cos i ain't really when it all boils down to it, I love all kinds of guitar playing. |
