Important - New Flesh CLOSED INDEFINITELY.

Just to clarify the situation for anyone who's not up to speed.

Fury Murry's pulled a screw job and ripped me off the day before Download - Cancelling New Flesh and deliberately lying about their intentions until the last minute, when they revealed that they had been planning for some time to do so and put on their own night in it's stead.

I put New Flesh on for three final nights in Barfly, the last one being after the QMU Fear Factory gig on June 23rd 2004.

I'm taking a short break from DJing ( With the possible exception of a one-off party on behalf of the band Pointless Creation sometime in July. ), but intend to eventually come back with a regular night.

Where, when, and who with are factors that are all currently undecided, but rest assured that when it happens - you'll know.

yeah i went to what i thought was newflesh after download and turned up to a dissapointing dj!! wtf are fury's all about? will barfly not let you do it permanently?

Barfly would, but they'd require a hall hire instead of a cut of the door money - and I can't gaurantee enough people each and every week to cover that, nor can I afford to cover it out of my own pocket.

Sorry about Download - A lot of people went expecting New Flesh, as I only had a few hours to organise a new venue ( Barfly ) and get the word out that we'd moved!
For some odd reason, Fury's weren't exactly going out of their way to tell people that the night WASN'T an N.F. night!

they are complete asswipes thats shit, they should have at least let you play that night and if they didnt want you in from there on in then you could have had time to spread the word of the new venue. When i went in i was just told that you had left and didnt want to do it anymore.

thats a bit shit about barfly, all you can do now is get your thinking cap on!!! take a break first though and chill.

No, it was a deliberate, premeditated screwjob.
They didn't tell me in advance, because they didn't WANT me to be able to spread the word in time.
They pretty much admitted that to my face when I asked them.

The whole idea seems to have been to get as many of my punters as possible to stay with them through not knowing I'd moved, and to try to get anyone who DID know to stay simply because they had cheaper drink.

Kinda shows you who your friends are when shit like that happens...

If you mean Fury's - Yes. Yes it was.
They knew what they were doing, and members of staff had specifically been told not to let me know what was going on.
It doesn't get much more personal than that.

If you mean folk simply abandoning New flesh because Fury's had cheaper drink then no, that's not really personal.
It's just a bit shit IMHO - especially the folk that knew what Fury's had done to me.

Perhaps if I was willing to rip off my customers, charge through the nose for entry, and stop fighting to get them the cheapest drinks and door entry possible while still being able to actually put the night on... Then maybe I'd get on better with nightclub managers in general, and they wouldn't keep stabbing me in the back.

well i think fury's made a bIg fucking mistake...but they did it to us as well they blew up £400.00 quid's worth of equip, then refused to paY for it..bastards

but any way new flesh will be back and pointless creation will play it as well if bands are needed...full backing from the PC boys..

Nah, dude... New Flesh won't be back. I think the name's best left in the past, as 2-and-a-bit-years worth of "D'you remember that time at New Flesh when...?"

Which gives me an idea for a thread!
