Genital Tattooing

Hey,

So I'm wanting to get a little loveheart tattoo'd in the (how to describe it) corner as it were of my mound, not tiny but about the size of a 5 pence piece roughly. Kind of like the French Courtiers would have on their cleavages if that makes any sense.

So I went into a tattooist and they advised it wouldn't be possible...any thoughts?

there are loads of ppl out there with wee tattoos on their public area...

i guess its just where you go to get it done

did they give you any reason why it wasn't possible?

what studio did you go to?

Yeah, that's what I had thought - although I had been pretty gutted when he told me it couldn't be done...

I went to the one that's under Central Station (can't remember the name now)

He just said that it'd be far too small and it wouldn't look like a loveheart, and that if I wanted it, it'd have to be about the size of 50p...far bigger than I want...

"biancolo" is about the worst excuse for a tattoo studio in glasgow. personally i'd put it below terrys

i'm sure barry will be on later and can give you a slightly more in depth reasoning behind the possiblities of it.

i have no idea how the skin there would take to tattooing, but generally if it's done properly something of that size is perfectly viable.

It's entirely possible and from what I gather not entirely that painful. Some places may KB it based on the locale, shall we say, of the work but aside from that...

This terrible sounding idea slots nicely beside "female nipple piercings" on the great big shelf labeled "Why The Fuck Would You Ever Do This?".

If it's "for yourself" then just save yourself time, pain and permanent scarring by pretending you have it done. It's not like you're going to tell yourself any different, or have to look down and have your illusion shattered very often.
If it's for the benefit of men, women or animals that you may happen to sleep with, do you really think anyone cares enough to stop and admire your tattoo once getting you to a point where it's visible? Do you think "hey, lol, do you like my loveheart tattoo? " would elicit any greater a response than "ehh, aye, very good" at that stage of the game?

If you think you have a perfectly valid reason for getting this done, then please don't feel the need to get all defensive or anything... Just explain it to me. I'd really like to know what inspires anyone who isn't a stripper, prostitute or porn star to get things like this done. "Because I want to be able to drop my wacky tattoo into conversation and sound interesting" is not a valid reaosn, by the way.

I'm curious as to why you want someones personal choice explained to you. It's a discussion in itself, if you'd be willing to particapate.

There is some degree of reasoning and logic behind the decisions made by pretty much all living beings, and as living beings it's also natural to wish to understand the reasoning and logic of others where it differs from our own.
I don't "get" this "tattooing yer gammon" deal, so I would like it explained to me by someone who does.

Any other fucking stupid questions?
