I'm sorry but cutting parts of little kids off to please the traditions or preferred aesthetics of a group of older men, am I the only one that finds that absolutely fucking sick. I don't care what imaginary friend they do or don't believe in, people should be locked up for even attempting this sick little tradition. Interfering with little kids' genitals just because "it's the done thing". The human race drops another notch.

What if there was an imaginary friend that decided that all newborn babies should have some sexually-related part of their body pierced? How many people do you think would accept that? Yet ignorant people in America will happily allow parts of their kids to be cut off and probably not even think twice.

Rant over, seriously this subject makes me unspeakably pissed. The fact that it's sometimes done because a book of folk tales condones it only makes me madder.

I think all of the studies have been proven false. Some high-up US medical institution ruled that they could see no benefit to it. The reason it kicks around in the USA is because of their Health System - doctors that get paid for doing each operation. It pays well enough so they keep the thing going.
