Heroes' new home will be Subway Cowgate as of Thur 26 May. After we rocked out with the launch party for the new Garbage album last month, there was no way we could go back!
Subway Cowgate is swiftly becoming known as the 'King Tuts' of the East, putting on cutting-edge, up and coming bands such as Selfish Cunt and Death Sentence Panda.
Heroes is a night which manages to transform the gritty, suburban atmosphere of the Cowgate into something rather magical. Go-go Dancers and human art installations dress up and get down to the crazy eclectic mix of music played by DJs One Arm Bandit (Planet Out) and Voodoo Doll (Club Motherfucker- London, Disko Bloodbath).
The loyal crowd freaks out to the likes of Divine, The Velvet Underground and Girls Aloud surrounded by Super8 projections, specially created art / wallpaper and B-Movies.
Hosted by NYC club veteran Martin Belk (Squeezebox!), Heroes aims to provided twisted and burlesque entertainment in the form of live bands (Motormark, Flying Matchstick Men & Electroluvs have all played) comedy, magic and Belk's own brand of crowd banter.
