Alternative clubs are seriously lacking in Aberdeen these days, Elizium is no longer running (but putting on bands every so often), the Palace died years ago and as you said DJ Paul has long gone (afaik). However we do have Moshulu which should have a Thursday night on without a doubt, in case you didn't know; Moshulu is the number one Rock/Alt club in Aberdeen these days situated around the corner from where the palace used to be, on Windmill Brae, next to the lap dancing bar

Oh and I almost forgot The Bassment underneath Moshulu, its a nice place serving food and playing good (enough) music.

[edit] and from the looks of it Moshulu do nothing on a Thursday, so you're left to thh Bassment and all the trendy bars.
