| Re: getting them on the bottle Undermine her self esteem. Insult her a lot. Make her feel there is little purpose or value to her life. Obviously you can't have her fired from a job but perhaps removing tasks and activities that she enjoys and give her purpose will help.
Or, at the opposite end of the spectrum, you could put ridiculous demands on her. |

| Re: getting them on the bottle I gave you my advise, jesus. The only way it'll work is perseverance and putting it in their mouth so they get used to it.

| Re: getting them on the bottle a) Put bottle in its mouth.
b) Wait.
c) Wait for it to talk and tell you how much it hates you.
d) Wait for it to walk so it leaves.
e) Realise you wasted your life on a base biological impulse.
f) Death.
c)-f) are just the general things, really. Follow steps a) and b) for your essential bottle feeding nonsense. |

| Re: getting them on the bottle I used to feed Doone a bottle most night's as it helped me bond with her and give Pamela a break.
Need to checl with Pamela but she was quite young when we gave her a bottle. Wasn't quite sure of it at first but we percerveired and we got their. We also gave her the milk at a nice temperature and made sure she was nice and comfy, worked for us.
Best thing you can do is just try it and see what happens.
On a side note Ali you are best ignoring all the unhelpful comments as that's all you seem to get in this place.

| Re: getting them on the bottle Use bottles that are designed to imitate breastfeeding. I use Avent, designed to reduce colic as well. Basically if they are hungry they will eat. You tried Evie on solids yet?

| Re: getting them on the bottle Eli was straight to bottle, but at one point we had to change him to a different type of teat, so hope this helps!
We gave the second feed in the morning with the new bottle because we thought that if he didn't like it he would just drink later, rather than waking up in middle of the night thirsty. Also, I tried to make sure it was a quiet time - no hubby rushing about getting ready for work, no rush to get out somewhere etc, so nice relaxed atmosphere so it doesn't seem a stressful thing. Part of that involved me singing as well (the loony things you do as a mum! ) as the wee man disagrees with sane society and actually quite likes hearing a wee tune from me!

| Re: getting them on the bottle I never had any bother with my two taking a bottle after BFing, but my advice is try and get someone who doesn't smell of breast milk to feed her at first with the bottle or she'll just head butt your boobs.
Are you going to be feeding her breast milk from a bottle or formula? |

She can take juice now, try that in a bottle, breaks the connection with the milk for a start. If she needs a drink she will take a bottle (heartless tho that sounds!)
