Seems like quite an out the blue question..

I had something sort of similar with a girl I was seeing recently.. she had a bit of a panic being a few days late, but it was genuine, not pretend. I was surprised at how un-freaked out I was to be honest... but it was a false alarm.

Not quite the same thing, but yeah, that kind of thing is good cause it lets you know how you'd deal with it.

As to being 'out of the blue', theres quite a bit of it going about at the moment, and since people seem happy (And even, god help them, proud) to admit to much worse on here, I thought I might be able to glean some insight.

Did you feel a bit kind of, "Oh..." disappointment? I've had a few scares where it would really have been terrible timing and even though I'm relieved, there's still a tinge of disappointment there.

I got really pissed off with someone a couple of years ago who pretended to everyone that she was pregnant, I have no idea what her reasoning behind it was but the fallout was horrible to see. The only reason I can think of for doing it is to save a relationship, but if that's the lengths you need to go to then surely it's not worth it?

Dont get me wrong.. a few days later I was still thinking about it and what a bad thing it would have been, I just took the news much more calmly and sensibly than I thought I would, trying to remain as practicable as possible.

I don't get the 'pretending to be pregnant' thing... why tell a lie where you KNOW you're gonna get caught out and look like a psychopath?

Don't see the logic there, to be honest. I've went to insane lengths to save relationships and its been called romantic.

had the odd false alarm but have never pretended, even as a joke, nor do i know of anyone who has. pretty daft thing to lie about after all, nine months later questions would be asked.
that said i DO know folk who have tricked guys into getting them pregnant!

I know someone who has pretended to the parter as she thought it was "funny" direct quote there, she told him weeks later she was just faking it. I'm not sure why, although she didn't understand why I didn't also think it was amusing.
