    Cat Litter

So, waiting until a cat is ready, I've been ordering and buying everything I will need in ready for his/her arrival. The only thing I don't have as yet is litter because I have NO idea what's best. All I know is I don't want a clumping or clay kind, and preferably uses natural ingredients.

    Recommend me a brand, please?

The one that the CPL tend to use is called Beuticat, and it's about £15 for a 20 or 30 litre sack, should be able to get it at most pet shops

Out of interest, why don't you want clumping cat litter?

you'd think that a successful nightclub operation like CPL would spend the money and pay for proper human toilets

We use World's Best Catlitter. It's corn based clumping which is flushable. It absobs the smell really well, so I think it's worth the extra expense.

We get stuff from Sainsburys, £1.43 wss 8kg.

I know everyone prefers different stuff.. Personally I have found the catsan clumping the best kind because it minimises the waste.

there are newpaper pellet kinds that you can get,

We use the wood based one too. the supermarkets usually have their own brand one and sainsburys does the beauticat. its usually under the £4 mark for a bag of it and will last you at least half if not the whole month. Just dont put to much in because it breaks down into teeny pieces and will double in size by the time they have dug about in it a couple of times.

I use Cat's Best litter, available at petplanet.co.uk - natural materials, really good clumping litter, and totally flushable.

    Re: Cat Litter

After using a few, we've settled with Pets at Home own brand natural wood pellets mainly because it's A) as it says on the tin, naturally based B) he doesn't trail EVERYWHERE once he's used it. It absorbs smells fairly well, too.

    Re: Cat Litter

I tried the wood pellet litter with Angus. I started off liking it, but it breaks down into sawdust as it gets used and he was walking around with wee-soaked sawdust socks. Staticky little bugger....
