And aye, it's a navigation pole for the bridge - I kept being tempted to clone it out or burn it in but decided against in the end because "I don't want to do too much to the pic"...
Now it's been pointed out that it is noticable it'll have to be got rid of though Quote:

| Re: Photo-A-Day III I've promised myself this is the last buildingy shot I post here without sharing something else I like that I think is worthy of your time.
This one sneaks in because it is apparently where Bill Sikes died in Oliver Twist - St Saviour's Dock.
EOS 5D, 50mm on 28-135 zoom
1/200 @ f11 ISO 3200
Lightroom's "Aged Photo" preset took care of pretty much everything I wanted off camera. Which admittedly when I shot it was nothing more than "this will look good in sepia".
Also for those folks that liked my Houses of Parliament shot earlier in the thread, I updated it and then decided I like another pic of the place much better. You can find them & a couple others in my altnation gallery here or on flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/spoiltc...rchisketchure/ |

| Re: Photo-A-Day III EOS 400D, 50mm prime
1/50sec @ f/2.8 ISO 400
Flash bounced from ceiling.
Lassie in the background has no eyes.

| Re: Photo-A-Day III Duplicate layer > high pass flter > gaussian blur at 1/3 radius of high pass > invert layer > set blending mode to 'linear light' > set opacity to 50% > apply layer mask > paint layer back in over skin. There was like one spot and you could hardly see it.

| Re: Photo-A-Day III Shannow taught me a variety of the Gaussian Blur trick years ago and it's great when it works (like on Vicki there), sort of like having an extra softbox light to give a lovely glow. Except that obv Vicki glows naturally from within due to being ace.
It's a good pic, good eye contact - I like it even though I can actually tell even from the wee blur at the side what a feckin state my hair was in.
Also I like the colour one better |

| Re: Photo-A-Day III Ah, clever. I shall take note.
Also, I think the main spots are hiding under my hair. I have about 4 mahooooosive red blotches that seem impervious to makeup |

Ugh, that's actually a really horrible thought.
