So I was sitting in a sheltered area at the time. I don't know if that accounts for what you're saying here.

I don't know if that accounts for what you're saying here. | Nah, the camera qould have a meter inside which measures the light being reflected back onto it. in most cases, this gives a fairly accurate exposure, but overly light scenes like snow or the sand on a beach make it think 'holy fuck bright' and you end up with rather dull looking underexposed photos. likewise, very dark scenes it would tend to overexpose leaving you with rather washe dout looking colour, best way to meter a scene is with an incident meter which tells you the exposure for the actual light arriving at ascene rather than what'sm being reflecte dinto your camera. |

Generally I'd say you want about one-third sky to two-thirds mountain, but this is one of those cases where the rules can be handily ignored. I tried bumping the contrast up a bit and pulling the blues down a little, hope you don't mind:
edit: looking at it, that's probably a bit too much contrast.

I tried to get rid of the rock face on the right but I can't do it without getting rid of the cool stuff to the right of the rightmost peak (I think it's Mount Pollux or Mount Castor, I can't remember which peak is which but it's one of the two).
