That aside I gave it a wee touch of levels to darken the blacks and a mite of colour balancing; less than what it looks like though

There's a couple more to follow I took that I like but it will require photoshop to fix a couple of blemishes in them.

Not too keen on all the non-lamp areas. They'd work in silhouette, maybe, but right now they're in the way-too-dark-without-being-quite-dark-enough zone.

Would work better with the focus on the lamp rather than the blinds, I reckon. And possibly without the pane of glass in the way (if this is, in fact, a lamp shot through a window with blinds on and not something completely different).

I've got a few shots with the focus on the lamp and it just didnt work at all. There was to much light outside so the backdrop drowned the lamp in detail that wasn't needed even if that detail was very fuzzy from not being in focus. Played about with the exposure to see if I could darken the background enough but couldnt quite get it right. From the shots I took this was the most pleasing to my eye

Not took a photo of anything other than my kids or chickens in an absolute age so this kind of thing is making me want to get back out there

Shows what I know. Did you try panning left to right on a long-ish exposure? Could be worth a shot.

Anyway, the sunshine's gone. Photos taken on Sunday don't count as old.
