Wish I'd had a camera with me.

| Re: Photography Challenge/Game #3 I thought I'd give this one a go. I seem to be taking pictures of the sea all the time so i thought I'd give some other suitably 'wet' thing a try.
Went for the old wet leaves thing...tried spraying them in an effort to get beads of water like Mwezzi but alas it was not to be. I did get drips though. A macro lens would have been ideal for this; i tried a converter but quickly found out it has an optical quality comparable to that of a plastic milk carton. Went for the 50 instead:
Oooh and I only noticed the web after. |

| Re: Photography Challenge/Game #3 I like it at that zoom - with a macro lens you'd have had less context and i really like the framing as it is.

I'll try and get a better one in better light. |

| Re: Photography Challenge/Game #3 couple more:
the ice cube is sitting on some CDs; it looked much nicer to the naked eye than i managed to capture on CF card...
the orange one is orange cos i put gel over the flash so it would be less powerful (it was already on 1/32 power but still too bright) and was gonna B&W it, but actually like it, it's like a boiled sweet

I would've tried a totally different shot with a macro; possibly something like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hal_photos/2578136643/ (linked cos it's no mine). Of course I would have somehow had to get water droplets to form to do this. |

| Re: Photography Challenge/Game #3 Inspired by toast's icy CD; i thought I'd try dropping water on one (the bokeh at the top left is the best bit about this):
Then gave it a shot with the macro converter which actually worked not so badly this time:

| Re: Photography Challenge/Game #3 I think the secret is using a high aperture; the depth of field is so tight that close up. The bottom one above was at F/8 and still nothings really that sharp. I just hand held it but i think if I were to revisit i'd use a tripod and higher aperature/lower shutter. |

| Re: Photography Challenge/Game #3 Water - a great expanse of it! I can't really be bothered straightening it right now because this laptop's being slow so Photoshop takes ages just to start up, never mind do simple tasks.

If you're lucky some kind soul will come along and PM you a straightened version, I'm sure.
The light on Monday evening was incredible.
