Can't resist putting up just one more of the fabulous light earlier on this evening.
I did another with a greater depth of field, but it wasn't so nice. Do you think i picked the best point of focus?
(yes, i know it's slightly squint, but it is straight from the camera)

| Re: Photo-A-Day II Liking the tight depth of field in this aye! and the colour. I would've probably focused on the near side of the pokey out bit. This is too close to call really but it looks like it could be a bit off that. |

| Re: Photo-A-Day II I'm starting to use the manual focus on this digital camera - it's not as nice as that on my nikon, but it'll give me greater precision for things like this.
I think you're right - the focus is just beyond the bolt. D'oh... :rolleye2

The Internet camera reviewer person was surprisingly nice, so I'm quite chuffed, now. Quote:

(yes, i know it's slightly squint, but it is straight from the camera) | I really like this, but its purely subjective as to where the main focal point is, but IMO i think its rather nice. The colours are great and i love the whispy cobweb too.
Theres my criticism, and heres a portrait i done today (Completely un-edited) : |

| Re: Photo-A-Day II ooh i like. Obv the symmetry-nazi in me is finding something a bit off with the lining up of the zip with the bottom of the mask - could do with being shifted a smidgeon to the right?
I like the way only one eye is visible It's be cool if the eye was a bit clearer, but I'm not sure how that could be achieved when still maintaining the darkness of that side of the mask. Hrm. I'm sure there are some fancy lighting tricks which could be employed.
Planning on doing any further editing to it in photoshop/whatever? It's always interesting comparing the 'raw' image to how you visualise it to look finally.

(yes, i know it's slightly squint, but it is straight from the camera) | This is good, but it would be great if the let hand side of the bolt was in focus, in my opinion.
I don't really have any new photos taken apart from some from a gig I was at last week. |
