People who say a whole genre is "Shite" are arseholes. I mean think about it. Fisrtly, alot of bands who are put in genres dont belong there, its just labeling them for the dumbed down market. I mean Prodigys " Music for..." has been classed as a rock album, NOFX new stuff classed as Metal, DJ shadow as HipHop and Atari Teenage Riot as Dance. That last one still makes me laugh.
Secondly, how do you know that "ALL" jazz is shite. I hate most pop-punk, being as it is generally 3 chord, 3 band members, 3 minute songs about girls, skating and "real" rebellion, with that in mind I do like NOFX, LAgwagon and a few others.
Im pretty open minded about music. I like everything from Industrail metal like Carcass, Fudge Tunnel, Early Pitchshifter and Carnival to acoustic-folk stuff like Azure Ray and Bright Eyes to dance acts like Prodigy, Moby, Mylo and Okenfold.
I mean, open your mind, your will find you actuall like alot of bands, groups or artist if you actually listen to them before dissmising them as shite

there's plenty of great jazz music.
that's true of most other genres too.
but there is NO good kentucky bluegrass.
anyone who wastes their time complaining about long instrumental solos (and a tendency to there being disproportionate numbers of wankers) in jazz is wasting time that could be better spent crushing up jaw-harps.
