Comforting news...though how will you escape? What type of pasty? Cheese and Onion could help, if you remember the events of 1974...

Re: Mornington Crescent

After an overnight hitch hike, I arrive at Covent Garden without a rasher of hiddlethump worthy of note. Pasty fumes are of mild concern.

Apparently, I am now aka 'forum' Nicol, as in, "Oh, you mean forum Nicol, I know who you mean."

Under the Name Change (Adaptation) (Scotland) Act 1987, I am reliably informed by my accountant that this allows me to take a short bus ride to Tottenham Court Road and claim back the fare from petty cash, thus leaving me enough change for a packet of salt n vinegar crisps.

It was chicken which was useful, as you well know it comes before the egg, allowing we the transition to heathrow 1,2 & 3 not the best move ever but at least I get to remind you of the infamous "Turtle & Hare" World Championship of 1987. And I think we all know what that means.

While on the other side of the world, my plane is delayed for 6 hours because the pilot lost the keys, and thus the balance is restored. Therefore I book a round-the-world cruise ticket which will eventually dock in Dover, in approximately 3 weeks time. Incidentally, this blocks any moves through stations beginning with D, thanks to Hodgkinson's third law.

Re: Mornington Crescent

Surely you mean Hodgkinson’s fourth law? The third refers only to permissable manouvers during westward-blowing storms. Well, that and clockwise aphorisms, which should go without saying.

Moving on to the Northern Line at Euston, I’m looking at MC in one. This is staggeringly lucky.

Not if I play Elephant and Castle! Then You'd be impeaching the Samantha Decision 1983.

To avoid trunk-related tactics I stop overnight at Putney Bridge to plan my assault on MC using the "arm and poppycock" leftfield swipe.

Well if that's the way we're playing, I'll invoke the Green Monster ricochet, and claim a free ground-rule double to Highgate.
