Ming Campbell Visit

Sir Ming Campbell MP, leader of the Liberal Democrats, will be visiting the Queen Margaret Union on Friday 23rd February for a question and answers session with students.

The event is free entry – although you should pick up your free tickets from Union Reception before the event to guarantee a seat. Tickets will be available on the door.

It's short for Menzies.

I'll be in attendance at this. Should be pretty interesting, especially given the high possibility of the Lib Dems being part of an SNP led coalition in Holyrood within a matter of months.

i met gordon brown. he introduced me to david blunkett and then i fed david blunkett's dog. that was pre-sleaze.

that's my only gordon brown based story. i tell it all the time.

Did you not see what happened when he did the Donald Dewar Memorial Address a few months ago? Everyone going into the Bute Hall had to go though metal detectors and daft security arrangements. Not to mention the mass protests outside the Main Gate.

I think even Dougie would be hard pushed with those security arrangements

Blunkett has always been pretty sleazy.

My list of political figures that I've met is stupidly long: Jack McConnell (twice), Sir David Steel, Cathy Jamison MSP (when she was still the Education Minister), Iain Duncan Smith (when he was still Tory leader), Tommy Sheridan (just at the start of Minutegate), Alan McCartney (late SNP Euro MP) and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (former president of France).
