Beer Garden at the QM - feasible?

Whats that roof above the study rooms doing?

And hey, not often you get to post a poll, so I thought I'd throw one in.

Re: Beer Garden

There are two flats on the roof. I feel the occupants would be a bit miffed if the roof was taken over by students.

Re: Beer Garden

Unfortunately the university own the land round about the QM. So there aint much we can do. And as far as roofs are concerned, they'll cost soooooooo much money to make suitable!

Not to mention the amount of fencing that would need to be put up around the roof to stop crap/students getting thrown off the roof.

Re: Beer Garden

We have sort-of operated one in the past out the back of the Jim's Bar fire exit, although the "new" air con system takes up a large chunk of that space now.

The roof isn't really an option I think for several reasons. And it's not that nice an area out the back there. If we could only convince the uni to give us the former tennis courts, but there's allegedly rare beasts living there so it's protected, or something.

Re: Beer Garden

Which one? There's about three university cats.

If memory serves, and it usually does, Beer Garden has been discussed in innumerable board meetings. You can ask to see the minutes as a member, I believe.

Always worth having a look at. If only to discover that as was hiterto unknown to yourself the bins in Qudos, or lack thereof, are actually of cosmic importance.
