Sound as Language records bit of a a mounthful to be honest. I prefer Raskol but maybe thats becasue I'm used to it.

One's man's pretentious is another one's thoughtful, though - being perceived as 'pretentious' isn't really something that would bother me much, I don't think.

No, not really, I just figured there would be an entrenched pro-Raskol attitude, because generally speaking people are opposed to change, so I'm playing devil's advocate because I doubt anyone else will.

i think if you were to change it then it'd need to better than Sound As Language...which sorry isn't very good in my opinion...
i guess Raskol Records just has a nice ring and it's shorter and snappy.

Sound As LAnguage just isn't a very good name, I'm sorry to say. Stick with Raskol. Make thoughtful records, rather than striving for a thoughtful name.

I must say, I'm slightly surprised by the depth of affection - or at least lack of hatred - for Raskol.
In hindsight, I think I should've introduced this idea of change without referring to a possible successor, though.

Personally if you really want to change it then change it but I'd maybe think of a different name but thats only casuse I agree with Tony, still I'm to blame for Alternative Nation

Its a hard call ,if you have built it up as raskol for a few years will changing the name make any differance?i happen to like Raskol as a name instead of thinking of a spelling mistake ,i think it has more of an interesting duality *the impetuous imp*and the struggle with conscience*punk and emo*lol. | |

This way, at least you've already come up with a new favourite, and had it shot down. Erm. Aye. Somehow that's helpful, maybe. Um.
Raskol is fine - it sounds flip and casual, but has hidden depth and integrity. Much like a lot of the music you like.
