Mind they have the GU and the QMU whihc are two seperate things and you elect to join one or the other as far as I know. Is this what you meant? |

QM is a private members club

I'll be doing my best to encourage the QM to resume it's membership card thang, it seems to me to be analagous to the way that entry to gigs happens, and I see more advantages than disadvantages.

At most universities all students are automatically members of their union, so they can get into both their own union and also most other universities unions.
At glasgow, cos there's two unions to chose between, students aren't automatically members, so even though they're matriculated students, they're not allowed in til they join one - likewise a glasgow uni student who hasn't joined a union can't get into Strathclyde union either,
Danny - I'm not sure if there's any real reason that non-glasgow uni students couldn't join. there might be something in the education act about it, though i doubt it, that probably just relates to elections and office bearers. dunno.

| Re: Revolution - Signing In? The only problem I see with this plan is that the temp membership cards are little pieces of card (hence the name.) Thing is, since you're not issuing new ones, and you're only replacing the ones that expire, what happens if you lose your card, or it gets wet or something? Can you get it replaced then?
