IIRC (board policy may have changed) nope you can't. As the use of other Universities student cards to allow non-members to sign folk in is based on the idea of recipiorocal agreements with their universities unions.

Most colleges, nearly all as near as I know, don't have unions ergo can't have recipirocal agreements therefore no signing in for you.

EDIT: Actually looks like Glasgow Met. does have a union - I have no idea if that makes your card valid or not but I'd assume that in theory (if your union contacted the QM) then some form of recipriocal agreement could be reached.

This is right. It's nothing to do with board policy though - it's law.

This is wrong. If it happened it was a mistake.

A reciprocal agreement requires the person to be a member of a similar institution providing similar services (most notably a bar). Most colleges don't have bars, thus we can't have a reciprocal agreement with them so their students must be treated like any other member of the general public.

Between 2002-2005.

Glasgow Uni ID is fine, obviously, but you have to be a member of either the QMU or GUU or you'd need signed in yourself.

Colleges outwith Glasgow are a bit more difficult, the door staff aren't likely to know whether we can have a reciprocal agreement with them. They should have checked (there's always a board member on duty who should know) but I'm sure plenty don't.

Anyway, I don't really give a shit who gets into the QM, or how, anymore. Just thought I'd point out the rules in case one of you rolls up to the door and finds there's someone who has a clue standing there.
