| Ducks! I've got half a dozen Indian Runner duck eggs in the incubator that are due to hatch tomorrow night and they've pipped* already! Hopefully sometime today I'll be able to post pictures of the ducklings.
*When eggs are about to hatch, the chick inside will poke a hole through the shell in order to get more air in and this is the start of the hatching process which can take a full day to complete. When they poke the hole through, that's called pipping. |

I love ducks. I also like to eat them, but they are pretty much my favourite animal. Can't wait to see the pics

| Re: Ducks! Mishelle - we're trying to provide a little of our own food instead of relying on suppliers so we keep hens and we grow fruit & veg. We're hatching ducks for eggs and maybe meat (or more likely to sell because they'll destroy the garden) |

| Re: Ducks! Thats pretty coolof you. Kudos to you guys when ye have to kill em. I wouldnt have the guts, even though everyone else seems to rely on others killing animals for them, then complain about slaughter houses etc. We have all forgotten about our primal instincts! I cant talk, Im one of them....
High five for you! |

| Re: Ducks! Everyone thinks they're such sweet little things
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Soft downy feathers and nice little wings.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
But there's a poison I'd like to administer,
You think they're cuddly but I think they're sinister.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
What are they doing at night in the park?
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Think of them waddling about in the dark.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Sneering and whispering and stealing your cars,
Reading pornography, smoking cigars.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Nasty and small undeserving of life.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
They smirk at your hairstyle and sleep with your wife.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Dressed in black jackets and horrible shoes,
Getting divorces and turning to booze.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Forcing old ladies to throw them some bread.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Who could deny they'd be better off dead?
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Look closer and you may recoil in surprise,
At web-footed fascists with mad little eyes.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack! The March of the Sinister Ducks was written, performed, and recorded by The Sinister Ducks, a band who included Alan Moore the comic book writer, Alex Green and David J from Bauhaus. It was released in 1983. (UK links: Alan Moore, Bauhaus) |
