| Re: Words your pet/s understand. Loki and Thor's names are said in different tones to express "Hello", "Goodbye", "Food", "Come here", "Go away" and occasionally "Stop that right now!"
There are nuances to each of these, but thats the basics. |

| Re: Words your pet/s understand. Slicer, I would, but living in rented flats sucks!
I'm going to wait until I at least own the place before I ruin it with kittens/puppies.
Monkey is cool, but still not that impressive somehow? Maybe cus he looks too human. It'd be better if it was a Koala Bear that could understand 500 words!! |

| Re: Words your pet/s understand. Susie, my cat, understands:
Prawns/Prawnies - say this and she runs about your feet till you get to the kitchen
Munchies - her crunchie biscuits
fishy - this is her toy which is a fish on the end of a fishing rod
birdies - birds outisde in the garden - saying this over and over again makes her really minxy.
She only appeared to understand these words because they all benefit her in some way, shes is the least obedient lady ever, to the point we thought she was deaf but turn oput she was just ignoring everyone. |

We use sign language now. And he can lip read, I think. |

| Re: Words your pet/s understand. Not sure my cats know words but they sure as hell understand tone. One of them also knows the sound of me walking regardless of the shoes I wear. He can come from anywhere as soon as he hears me at the end of my road to follow me home. He definitely understands a lot but I am not convinced he understands words.

I still remember Kanzi's first official press conference. A truly earth-shattering occasion. |

| Re: Words your pet/s understand. Stumpy knows his name, and comes out from under his rock, pincers flailing if you shout on him. Sadly, he doesn't understand "It's over there!" when he completely misses where his food is. |

| Re: Words your pet/s understand. my cat, charlie, understands 'what do you want?'. usually asked when he is mincing about the kitchen meowing. he'll either go to the bag of food and rub on it or to the back door. he and our other cat, tilly, both understand 'get down' coz they arent allowed on the worktops when we are getting their dinner ready (or ever, really), but they (well mostly just charlie) will sometimes jump up. they jump down when they are told. charlie also understands 'do you want your dinner?' and 'wheres your sister?' but he'll only go in her general direction if she is in the house. otherwise he doesnt care. most of these questions are asked around dinner time so charlie has learned them well as he's very greedy (though not fat!)

| Re: Words your pet/s understand. not sure if its the words or tones but..
"gonna hide"- means wait for me to hide then come find me
"fish"- tasty treat gonna be cooked
"pussy cat"- when theres another cat in the garden they go run to the window
"sit"- one of them will sit
"down"- both get that
"bad"- tale goes down and they run
probably lots more
