was in solid rock tonight with mates and we had a laugh but im sorry to say the music was dire!seemed to be constant thrash metal a lot of the old regulars moaned about it including myself and a couple of decent tracks were played before it went back to the trash.place was really quite for a fri and a lot of people left after a drink,guys please sort the music out im not saying play middle of the road stuff all night but please vary it slightly not everyone wnts to hear thrash all night!

I've never had a problem getting requests played, if you're polite and just ask rather than saying "this is shit play something else" you almost always get what you're after, cos they're lovely that way!

Eh, there's a difference between wanting your songs played, and not wanting to listen to just one style of music all night.

The staff at the Solid play requests and are lovely, but if you're bored by the whole night its a kinda akward thing to say.

I'm sure if someone went up and said 'Me, my mates and a lot of the old regulars (*points*) ain't digging this constant thrash, could you mix it up a bit?' they'd be cool with that. Certainly has a better chance of success than posting on the internet the next day.

She makes a good point, no everyone feels comfortable doing these things in person. I guess the sub forum is also for feedback on the place, i'm sure bob and co take theses things on.

It's never really "thrashy" during the day, I take it the player has different playlists for different times?

I mean during the afternoon there are normally some classy blues tracks on... if I go back later if I'm out with people, the tunes have usually become heavier.

Rubbish. I've been in there when it's been nothing but thrash in the afternoon.
Generalising about types of rock/metal Solid plays is a bit daft because it's far too varied.
