So i don't understand why there are so much violence and struggle against one another. | For kicks, and because we're all possessed of about one tenth of the intelligence than we imagine ourselves to have. Life's what you make of it, and we've decided that big explosions and robots are awesome so long as they aren't falling on OUR heads. Thus we fill our otherwise empty lives with such things and attempt to assign importance to our personal struggles in order to give some semblance of meaning to our personal timelines. When we aren't having minor crises of our own, we watch our robots and explosions from afar with either awe or horror, which is another way to pass the time.
Meanwhile, a small child contracts tuberculosis in your neighbourhood, but you were looking the other way at the time and missed this.
You end up in hospital with a multi-resistant strain of the disease and, due to your last-minute discovery that you are allergic to one of the three antibiotics required to save your life, languish in an isolated cordoned-off bed and realise that you, like everyone else, have wasted your time, just like I've been doing for the past few minutes by making all this tripe up.

There is no life after death, ergo there is no get out clause that people who do not have it so great here will go to a "better place". Therefore the point in life is to work to help humanity reperpetuate itself in consistently better conditions, greater knowledge and happiness. There might not be a god or a heaven, but the actions and omissions of humanity are immortalised with every proceeding generation and surely this is a reason to work outwith your own benefit?
My hippie two cents. |

I dont believe in anything after death and sometimes it does make me wonder what the point of struggling all these years if for nothing, but then i realised that fags, drugs and orgasims make it all worthwhile. |

Eternal Torment vs Only One Lifetime?
On the other hand, forms of Buddhism, Hinduism and Wicca all believe that we will e reincarnated. Being reincarnated as one of Les's bacteria cultures, or a tapeworm or a dancing bear doesn't sound that great.
Being reincarnated as somethings could be awesome though. Just got to stay on the right side of Karma just incase, I suppose. |
