I'd WELL be up for going, in all seriousness. I've been reading a wee bit about Buddhism recently and it's something I'd take an interest in. | Nah, it's further up here mate, across from Campus.
I went today, but it was shut. I'll go on monday, can't be arsed going all the way to the wend, stuff to do today.

What's with the sudden hype about buddhism anyway? Trust me, it's a load of bollocks, the only neat thing is the actual initiation ceremony.
Oh and some magic words that'll help you out in times of trouble apparently, the most popular example being a guy who turned invisible in a lift when he was being mugged soon as he chanted them.
Totally nuts

Totally nuts | I've been interested in a while, don't know why I'm interested really. I guess it fits with my Muay Thai, and I have alot of theories on life and the universe than semi-fit aswell.
That and I want to turn invisibubble! |

| Re: Glasgow Buddhist Centre I think, from what I've seen, that a lot of Buddhist principles seem to be pretty spot on. It's actually something I'd be interested in learning more about.

| Re: Glasgow Buddhist Centre So I went, not sure the place is right for me. The woman said they're "a modern group", very hippyish
Might try the Zen place in the southside, or the Theravada place away up in maryhill, DUNNO. |

I also already said this. |

A. because form is emptiness and emptiness is form. |

| Re: Glasgow Buddhist Centre have you tried Rokpa in the west end? (sorry if someones already mentioned it, i only gave the thread a quick skim) yeah so they are pretty good, they've got all the usual set meditation /yoga classes and the like, but if i remember correctly you can just drop in any time. They've got a wee shop and library, and i found the people really nice, although generally buddhists arent the most talkative of people, so you may need to keep pestering them to answer your questions.
I must admit when i studied buddhim in higher RMPS , i thought it was a load of ...well ya know. Its only recently through a friend at work, ive became interested in it again. The cool thing about it is though, you can adapt it and follow a system of beliefs that suits/helps you.
I had my first visit to Samye Ling last month and thought it was great, im still not too up to scratch on the Buddhist philosophies etc but it was just such a nice experience, to get away from everything and remove yourself from everything else thats going on. I felt kinda spaced out when i came back for a few days......Think im gonna head back down in summer for one of the yoga weekends |
