| Are we allowed to force others to follow us!!?? In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Mercy Giving Due to my reading about other cultures, concepts and believes, I realized that we apply our experiences on others!! How?? We see that some eating hapits can be the best to all... For example, is USA ,people go to Kentucky, Pizza hot or Mc Donalds for fast food while in Saudi Arabia, people are addicted in Albaik restaurant.. This group of restaurants is growing fast in western region of Saudi Arabia. People who come to this region cannot leave their chance to visit it... What I mean is that traditions even if they were melted with other cultures still strict to certain hapits. Before many years, our view to English people were nuteral but afterwards and due to TVs, people started to act like west in their dress. This dress is being opposed by traditions while accepted in Islam unless they aren't normal to west.. When I was in Australia, I had to live with people from different places. One of them was so kind. He was from India.... I was making our Arabian Coffee . he thought that it is like Nescafe and filled a cup!! He didn't sleep that night... while we drink around 40 ml. It is so beautiful especially with dates.. .jpg) I believe that we can share customs and mix them but we must or should save some of our traditions.. The worst problem we have in our societies are applying things from others without studying it... cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerssssssssssssssssss

But what will happen if some people didn't respect our cultures... How can we deal with them!! | Depends what form that disrespect takes. Criticism is legitimate, persecution or demonisation is not.

| Re: Are we allowed to force others to follow us!!?? It's difficult I think.
A lot of people in Britain get annoyed that when immigrants come here they dont fully adopt our culture, but instead go on as they did in their native home land. Whats the point in this? If you like that culture so much why not continue with it at your home nation.
In saying that its also good to have some diversity within a community, so as we can open our eyes to the lifestyles other people live.
I guess its a bit of this and a bit of that.

I guess its a bit of this and a bit of that. | Good points you raised...
People get wild sometimes when they see people in their society use their own cultures. This happen also in the same country ..
This thing without having solutions might cause violence!!
I believe that both immigrants and citizens should accept each other. Immigrants should melt in society and citizens as well...
it need media to help them to cope with this...

| Re: Are we allowed to force others to follow us!!?? yeah, normal size text is much more likely to elicit sensible responses
i'm an immigrant, although i've lived here most of my life... and i do feel obliged to try to fit in - imagine if i drove on the right hand side of the road, it'd be carnage!
more seriously, i think we're seeing an interesting shift away from the traditional causes of abrasions: ie it's becoming less to do with seeing a different skin colour, and identifying that with immigration meaning a threat to jobs... and from the pther side, less about immigrants feeling that they're being treated unequally...
it does seem like these problems are increasingly gonna be more to do with clashes of culture; wearing a burqa, say (which may have a connection to religion, but that probably isn't directly the cause of the offense that people take when they see it).
sad times, after years of hard work at improving relations between races and cultures...

Im never sure theres anyway to deal with cultural differences when there is and always will be racism/discrimination towards people for various sometimes holy unecessary reasons.
This, i feel would have to be dealt with first for people to actually change their attitudes about others.
