I find humanism fairly interesting and seem to share a lot of their beliefs, although I don't think i'd ever want to go along to their meetings or anything. Was just wondering if anyone is a humanist and goes along to their meetings and events,

I'm quite aware that it's not necessarily something you sucbribe to, but I'm also aware that there are humanist organisations, such as the Scottish humanist society who hold regular events and meetings. I was just asking if anyone attended them.

I know nobody probably actually cares but humanist psychology is actually a strand of psychology influenced by humanist philosophy (such as it is - its kinda like the aetheist version of deism in a way.)

One of my Dad's cousins is a humanist 'minister' (not sure what the correct term is) but she apparently makes a fortune doing humanist burials, christenings, weddings and so on.

The idea that people are making large sums of money off people's religious beliefs is enough to put me off the organised movement.
But then I abhor organised religion at the best of times.
