| Time Travel Been watching the new Lost episodes and it got me thinking about time travel.
I have a few ideas in my head, but it gets messed up.
Say you invented a Time Travel Machine that could take you back or forward in time to a exact location within the universe (It would need to be exact cos if u travel back in time with no specified location the Earth probably wont be in the same position as you were when you travelled meaning you die somewhere in space as the earth has moved).
Anyway, say you travel travel back 10 seconds in time to a location a few metres away from your start point, so there are now 2 of you (yourself, and yourself as you were 10 secs ago). Now 10 secs pass and your original self will once again travel back in time making 3 of you at a time 10 secs prior to the original jump. This can be repeated as many times as required. Not only have you created Time Travel, but cloning, success. You could even create massive black holes by doing this by say sending 1kg of Iron back in time say 0.0000001 secs to a specified place, now you have 2kg of Iron in the exact same location, and 0.0000001 sec later you would again send 1kg back in time to the same location, this would continue and continue making a almost infinite mass in a small area and if my physics holds up, would collapse on itself due to its infinite gravitational field swallowing the universe haha.
Eh but also another theory, time travel doesnt do the clone approach, but acts like a cassette, u dont create a replica but instead fast forward or rewind along a set time line. In this theory wouldnt that mean that everything is destined to be and cannot be changed as all you are doing is moving forward or back along a given line.
I dunno what to think or if any of that makes sense, anyone else help me out or got opinions on it ??

Then, ten seconds later, you see yourself step into your time machine and vanish. The only point at which there are two of you is in that ten-second window before one of you jumps back in time.

if you were able to go back in time, then surely it would become a endless circle of time travelling.

I dunno what to think or if any of that makes sense, anyone else help me out or got opinions on it ?? | If you had gone back in time you would have seen your future self 10 seconds ago. If you never encounter your future self then you're never going to go back and meet your past self. If you did encounter your future self on a 10 second interval then there wouldn't be more than 2 of you because you will become that future self who goes back 10 seconds in 10 seconds,
That aside, removing energy from the universe at one point in time and adding it to the universe at another point would just cause problems.

If either time, or time travel existed as tangible things to be manipulated as such. |
