| deja vu? what do people think of deja vu?, i personally think its a mix of memories from other existences or childhood or the universe trying to tell you something, sometimes i get it so strong that i try to make it come back to grasp some sense of clarity or meaning(of course i always fail), and other times it comes with a feeling of heightened awareness as if something amzing is about to happen, any ideas?
god i sound like a hippy |

This is not a campestral thread at all. |

| Re: deja vu? Hmmmm, im a bit mixed about it.
I get deja vu very frequently. When it happens I recognise it almost instantly and then I feel Im watching my life on a film reel. It always happens with really in-consequential things though.
However, I was once told that research had been done into deja vu and it was concluded that it happens due to one eye moving quicker than the other and when you realise you are having deja vu it is just your other eye catching up. I have to admit though I didnt read this finding myself, so i dont know about its scientific truth. |

But it's a good wee example of your "mind playing tricks on you".

| Re: deja vu? There were two theories i'd read about a while ago. One related to a misfiring of the Neurons in your brain, where by you see something and it fails to register properly but when it does register properly on the 2nd attempt you feel like you've seen it before. The other was similar in that the data sent was very similar to something that you had seen previously, so similar that it felt as though it were the same, even though its not. Sorry about the botched explaination, i'm better with computers than brains.

i used to get deja vu all the time.... but it was odd, because it wasn't that i'd done/seen it before
It was more like i've done this in a dream before
