Sidebottom was good last night, seriously, good economy and some tasteful wickets. Unlucky not to get more wickets as a few were just out the reach of the slips.

To think England once had a pace attack of Harmison, Hoggard, Flintoff and thon Welsh guy (Simon Jones?). Best pace attack since Ambrose and co.

Patel was really fucking close to a hat-trick there. England about to skittled about 100 runs shy of New Zealand's 470 with plenty of play left on the third day. Should be onto a result here.

And then Sidebottom takes a hat-trick and it's close again.

Yeah. Noticed that this morning. Happened just after I left the game downstairs.

Seriously. When did Sidebottom become good?

He's always been there or thereabouts. He's not got the pace of some, but he's solid and unspectacular and keeps to a good line and length, which will bring success if you can do it consistently (cf Harmison)
