Aye we won our game yesterday. First league game. 22 - 10 over Jordanhill. We should have got the bonus point but didn't make the most of it when one of their men got sinbinned. But happy with the win. Thats 4 in a row now.

It was the second time in about ten minutes that we got hit with the ball. It's quite a dilemma when you've got a full beer in your hand and the ball is coming at you at some speed. Do you attempt to put your beer on the ground in the second you have before impact and risk taking it full force? Or do you just pathetically put your one free hand up to try to stop it? I chose the latter, unsuccessfully.
Would have surely been on the live footage, but I can't find a recording of that anywhere.

| Re: The Rugby Thread You should have protected the beer, at any cost.
It might have been on the highlights on STV the day?

| Re: The Rugby Thread still haven't played - but the boys are doing fine without me, 2 wins from 2 for the 1s and 1 win from 2 for the 2s. decent start to the season.

| Re: The Rugby Thread How long ye got left to get yerself playing again?
Aye we've had the best start we could have had. 4 wins from 4. 3 friendlies and 1 league game. 25-16, 81-19, 67-0 and 22-10 in the league. Beats last season where we only had 1 win from 20! 4 from 4. Confidence is high.
I think its something to do with how earlier we started our pre season training. We started on the 20th of June. Most clubs were starting late July. And instead of just the one coach like last season, we now have 4/5 coaches. Actually helps alot.
We were meant to be playing Cowal away in Dunoon this weekend but their pitch is fucked and getting drainage sorted so we have reversed our fixtures. So our first away game isn't until the 4th game of the league. But we get to visit Cowal in Dunoon on Halloween. Some bus trip on the way back it will be! Fancy dress I think.

| Re: The Rugby Thread yeh, I've read a couple of the Uddy match reports in the Hammy Ad. Looking good for promotion if you lot keep it going!
Dalziel are 6 wins from 6 and sitting pretty at the top of the league. I'm gonna be back training on Tuesday! Hopefully get a game in the next week or two! Do yourself a favour and don't strain ankle ligaments.

| Re: The Rugby Thread Aye we're doing well. Top of the league. We suffered oor first defeat of the season against Moffat two weeks ago. We were pretty pish. It's gonna be close as fuck this season in oor league.
I have decided to sack playing wing, I don't really like it, too isolated and often I found myself just ruuning back and fowards and never getting the ball. Cunt of a position. Moved back to scrum half for the 2nds. Played my first game at scrum half for about 8 years there on Saturday. Enjoyed it so much. Will need a bit of time to improve and that but that'll come.
